ThomasLeroy 21 Posted July 13, 2012 I always was a fan of beef Jerky or even slim jims before my banding, I know the sodium is too high. But can you eat either of these after? I'm sure the jerky is a no, but not sure about the old Slim Jim...color me addicted.
elcee 3,342 Posted July 13, 2012 I have eaten Biltong (the South African equivalent of jerky) and so long as it is not too tough I can handle it. I did come unstuck though eating droe wors( dried sausage), I think it is the skin that causes the problem. As I was on a game drive at the moment it was incredibly awkward. DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 13, 2012 I actually really like the teryaki beef Jerky. It's high in sodium so I go easy on it, but I have had it before with no problems,
Pollyanna12 74 Posted July 13, 2012 Funny. I just had Jerky this week. My advice, small small bites and chew about 4 times as long as pre-surgery.
honk 780 Posted July 13, 2012 I've tried pork Jerky at costco and had no problems. Just chewed carefully. Tasted like chinese spareribs!
