MandiMand 17 Posted July 12, 2012 I have a stomach bug, my second since my WLS (Dec '12). I think I have figured out why throwing up from this is way worse than from eating too much. This is food already past the band trying to come up, and it hurts trying to force its way through! It took me six incredily painful dry heaves to finally get something up. It wasn't even that much, but enough that it hurt like a you-know-what! If anyone has any suggestions for what I should be doing during this time (other than avoiding foods and resting), please, please let me know. I feel HORRIBLE right now! DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 12, 2012 They sell drugs to combat nausea OTC in most drug stores, I'd have someone go get some for you. Perhaps even have your doctor call in something prescription to combat the nausea. Not trying to scare you, but vomiting is one of the causes of slips, so you definitely want to avoid it at all costs. That's why many doctors will give band patients prescription anti-nausea medications even for common stomach bugs. I hope you feel better soon! 1 MoreThanJustaPrettyFace reacted to this
MoreThanJustaPrettyFace 55 Posted July 12, 2012 I completely agree with Mis. Get some anti-nausea pills ASAP!!! As bandsters, we want to avoid true vomiting at all costs.
