swollen2swanky 25 Posted July 12, 2012 How are you feeling 3 days post-op?????? Day 1 I was pretty active doing laundry and picking up the house with assistance. Been taking it slow day 2 and 3, did make a trip to Walmart and got a manicure. Just wondering how everyone else is feeling? I'm really hungry and trying to get all my Protein and Water down. Gas pains are in my chest but I have been up more than down walking and also using a heating pad.
2012 359 Posted July 12, 2012 I feel okay, I also had a hiatal hernia fixed so I think that's why my shoulder pain has been worse. I have not been too active except to walk around and move around my arms. I am getting ready to leave the house for the first time today to get some things. I'm a little worried about putting clothes on over these incisions, like jeans, so I'll see how that goes.
adorkbl 156 Posted July 12, 2012 I am feeling really good. I have a friend visiting in town so we went sightseeing yesterday which wore me out a little. Especially since it is over 100 degrees in Tucson and I am struggling to get all my liquids in. I have noooo hunger. Cooked dinner for hubby and friend last night and was not the least bit tempted. Gosh I love that feeling!! Lol. Hope it sticks around for awhile. Some achyness in chest when I breathe deep... from the hiatal hernia fix. And man... I had to sneeze... THAT HURT. LOL. What kind of post-op diet are you guys on? My surgeon said 2 days liquids, 2 days mushies, 2 days soft foods, and then I can move on to normal food. I feel that is waaaay too leanient so I am following a more strict post-op diet of 2 weeks liquids, 1 week mushies, and 1 week soft foods.
swollen2swanky 25 Posted July 12, 2012 I'm on a liquid diet till Monday and then mushy foods I think. I have my one week doctor appt Monday and we are going over my stage two diet. I also had a hernia repair. Going to the movies tonight. Good luck and keep in touch!
2012 359 Posted July 12, 2012 My diet is only 24 hours of liquids and now I'm pureed for about 2 weeks, which means that it cannot be any thicker than applesauce. I have to eat/drink every 20 minutes between 1 oz pureed versus 2 oz Fluid. It's okay now that I'm off work, but when I go back next week, this is going to be a pain. MairinNYC 3 Posted July 13, 2012 I was banded on Momday 7/9. I am very bloated but up & moving around. My doctor runs a very strict program and requires 2 weeks of liquids & 2 weeks of soft/ pureed foods. I just started to feel hungry today and I am trying to get all of my Protein Shakes and other Clear Liquids in. I am able to cook for my husband and daughter without getting tempted which feels good. =0)
djbrn02 6 Posted July 13, 2012 I was banded on 7/9 with a hernia repair. I feel ok but not well enough to run a marathon. I still have the pain in my chest and shoulder I have not had a bowel movement but I am passing gas and it is hard for me to get Jello or apple sauce down. My surgeon said 24 hours of clear liquids and then 7 days of full liquids and then week 2-4 soft foods then regular foods. But I am having a time with full liquids. Anyone else? recently banded distant

adorkbl 156 Posted July 13, 2012 Wow.. so many differing postop diets. I wasn't sure if he was being more lenient since my band was repositioned vs new band... but perhaps things have changed that much since I was first banded. Either way, I plan on taking things super slow. Staying on liquids until week 2... then I will switch to puree. Week 3 I will switch to soft foods... week 4 normal food. Still no hunger!! YAY! I even made my friend and hubby cupcakes tonight and I was NOT tempted. Craziness because my cupcakes are GOOD! lol. I am still waiting for a bowel movement... anything would be nice. Lol. Stomach is so freaking gassy from all these liquids.
