gone 4 ever 6 Posted June 8, 2009 I have just recently lost 100 lbs!!!!! About 60 lbs still to go. I posted about this earlier under the general discussion forum but thought it would be very fitting here. I have continued to 'reward' myself appropriately throughout my journey as I have seen others do. I wanted to do something special though for hitting 100 lbs - so instead of rewarding myself I decided to do something for others. In honor of 100 lbs gone forever - I donated 100 lbs of food to my local food bank. I would like to challenge some of you to do the same - Celebrate by helping others! kc I think this is the best reward ever. I will take you up on your challenge when I hit 100 lbs. I volunteer at one of our local food banks. it is an awesome ministry.

Apples2 19 Posted June 9, 2009 KC...challenge taken....donating 136lbs to my local food shelf this week. With the economy the way it is, you could have not thought of a better cause!
Headhunter 6 Posted June 15, 2009 I've lost 180 pounds.....but almost no thanks to the Lap band. Lost about 9 pounds TOTAL from the Lap Band, and several years of health in the process I lost about 70 pounds thanks to adherence to the PH Balancing method of weight loss, and the remaining 100 pounds as a result of a Gastric Bypass....At better-than-goal right now!:tongue_smilie: HH
theninside 0 Posted June 25, 2009 I'm glad to see this thread. I too heard that in addition to slower weight loss with the band, I would also not have a great deal of loss. I hope to make it to 100 someday. I have 43 pounds to reach that goal. But I am happy for you guys! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
theninside 0 Posted June 25, 2009 Please add me when you get a chance -100lbs in 10months - great since I was hoping to do it in the 1st year, now i have to come up with a new goal. that's ok because I get a new reward. gigi That's really fast. Good for you!
allielee 263 Posted June 26, 2009 I just wanted to say that in my experience I lost just as fast as a bypass patient. I followed the band rules and the weight just melted off. I think that the band is only as good as the person uses it. The band is a tool and in order to lose weight you have to work with it. Just my opinion..
