WOW - thanks everyone for posting. It gives us just starting a lot of hope. I am being banded on June 14th - it can't come soon enough. I feel like I am trapped and the band is the key to open the lock and get me started. 200lbs seems like a lot to lose. :) I will be happy to have 100 off in less than a year (personal goal) and will continue to try for that next 100lbs.

Keep up the good work everyone and I hope to join you soon! :clap2:

I was banded 7/4/05 By Ortiz in Mexico. I have had no complications and it has been an easy, slow loss! I am the worse bandster in the world and I still manage to keep plunking away at it!

The beginining of April I was happy wiht my 80 pounds down, saw a new fill Dr , who lectured me on the sins of sugar and the bad things I ingest, filled me alittle too tight, got back on track with my food and here I am down another 20....for the total of 100!

He thinks the beauty of the band that once you get it off, it stays off...so he believes in working hard in getting it off, unlike I was doing!

I wanted to be to my original goal by the 2 yr date and that is 215.....only 20 more pounds..I can make that!

I know have a new goal..and its to see "onederland..." And I will!

This saved my life and I have no regrets!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

What a great accomplishment you all have achieved.:clap2:

I'm not even banded yet, and I have chills going up my spine as I scrolled down the list of the 100+ Club.:omg:

I've been on here for 2 weeks now, but I had not been to this topic. I really needed this today. For some reason, I just realized today the the majority of banders lose about 70% of their excess weight.:faint:

I'd love to lose 100. 70% would mean I'd only lose 70 lbs. So I've been searching to see if there were other banders out there, who have 100 lbs to lose to get thier ideal body weight. This has given me hope. I would be happy with 70, ;) but really satisfied with 100.:biggrin1:

Thank you for your insperation. Because of all of you, I know it is possible, and I'm going to do it too.:clap2:

So I've been searching to see if there were other banders out there, who have 100 lbs to lose to get thier ideal body weight.

I had 157lbs to lose to get to the high end of healthy, I ended up losing 183lbs, and am at the lower end of healthy.

Losing 100% of the excess weight can be done.

Oh, and my weight loss needs updating, as does my user name.

I was Aussie Chick with 152lbs lost, I am now Chickie, with 183lbs lost. Thank you.

Today I hit 100 pounds lost! I was banded Feb.28, 2006. Thanks to this group I saw that it was possible to drop 100 pounds. Now I only have 50 pounds to go. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! When I got discouraged I always remembered the 100 lb. losers. You're the best and this site is worth its weight in gold.

I'm glad to hear that their is someone close to my age and losing 100 lbs in one year. I hope that I will become one of you by next year. Heard today that I was approved for surgery and will set it up on Monday. Surgery can be as early as June 6. This site has been addictive while I'm waiting. It has been GREAT! I hope that I can get the support I'll need after surgery. I know I will. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
