coffee is a good hunger killer if dr say no caffine just do Decaf. Also try taking a Protein shake and freezing it and then eat it like ice cream. I put mine in the blender and fluff it up and then freeze about an hour and blend again so it will stay fluffy and let it freeze. It will be liquid when it goes down. I am 3 years out and still do that everyday. I takes about 45 minutes to eat it and feels like ice cream.

Thanks cheri. That's a great suggestion.

I'm guessing you did not encounter any ill side effects from eating solid foods that soon after surgery...that's good.

Remember' date=' this time is to heal...and Peanut Butter is not easy on the stomach. The information I was given regarding my post op diet reads that Peanut Butter is not allowed for the first 6 months post op...

I would get in touch with your surgeon and discuss how you are feeling. It is too early post op for you to be eating solid foods...perhaps the physician would allow you to move onto mushies or soft foods a bit earlier.

They call it bandster hell for good reasons...this time is to heal, and not become obsessed with your scale. I believe that just about everyone has had to cope with major hunger at some points along their journey. I still get hungry, and drink Water and distract myself to manage it. [/quote']

You are right. I know it was stupid. I got back on track again. This is my only chance. I did contact my surgreon. Thank you. I need to remember healing. No rushing

It hard but you all can do it! Just imagine if you were in a country where there is no food for you, we would be so happy for our Protein shakes and popsicles and nice clean Water.

It is only for a month but so worth it! Keep up the hard work (I know suffering) time will past. Go get your nails done, buy some new perfume, read some new books , take a bubble bath when your hungry. Call a friend and once you start talking hunger will pass or seem not be so important. Anything to take your mind off it! You will be so happy when it is over and that you made it!

If I can do it I know you can make it too! A cup of coffee really helped me everytime!

At almost 3 weeks post-op, I'm on "mushy" food. A little disappointed that I gained 2 lbs this week (following diet, at 400-600 calories/day). Only urinating 2 X/day since Sunday. Obviously retaining Water. From what I've read on this site, it's normal when you go from liquid diet to food again.

I was banded on the same day and I am in the same boat as you. My calorie target is 800 with 70+ grams of Protein. I'm coming in under calories and always above on Protein. I have noticed that even though I am drinking a ton of Water, I am holding it in too. My fingers are even puffy. I keep hoping that when my TOM shows up the water will leave with it. :) I'm not that hungry but when I am I need some real food. I am moving into more stick to my ribs pureed Soups made with chicken and Beans. It is definitely helping with staying full longer.

In my first week towards the last two days I was feeling really hungry. Food was everywhere on TV and the internet. I wanted to eat a house, but I knew that I really didn't and I held on. I did add a little Peanut Butter to my chocolate powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein shake and that really helped.

It gets better. Hang in there!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
