Honestly, none. I can eat anything I want so long as it's not junk food, fast food, or otherwise unhealthy.

I eat bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, and tortillas regularly. I just make sure it's whole grain (for Pasta and bread) not the white, bleached stuff.

Are you losing weight? Just curious, because I.would think that you would as long as its not a lot.

Do the breads or tortillas often get stuck? That makes me hopeful that I'll be able to enjoy a good Mexican meal on occasion :)

Thank you so much for sharing! :)

@Change704- I've lost 117 pounds in a little over 6 months, so yes definitely losing weight. And truth is, I eat a lot of carbs. My nutrionist said at least 60g of Protein, no more than 125g of carbs, and no more than 20% fat per day. So, that's the program I follow and it works for me well.

@texas-bandette- I've only ever PB'd twice since being banded, both times were my own fault for not taking small enough bites of bread. So long as I take really small bites, chew it until mush, and pause between bites getting stuck isn't a problem.

I no longer eat Pasta or rice by choice, I have no idea if I would get "stuck" with them or not because I haven't had any since the surgery. But I cannot get any type of biscuit down, even the smallest nibble gets stuck or goes down slow. I still eat tortilla wraps and wheat bread fine. I can't give up bread all together, I love it way too much.

How do u keep track of what you eat? Just keep track of the Protein and carbs and fat per day not to go over those numbers?

Also, what do u eat on a typical day or two? My dr told me low carb... 30-50 g a day. I'm still on post op liquids but I'm trying to figure out how I will be eating on a typical day.

Also, do u exercise in addition to food?

my dr told me there is (nothing i cant eat) but that the choice was mine as to whether i chose to eat it or not (meaning high fat/high calories/slider foods).

since i newly banded, there is nothing on my list yet. I do stay away from corn and potatoes though as they are very starchy (and peas). i am sure more will be on my list.

i see it (the band) as something to help me feel fuller faster but not tell me what i can and cant eat. i make that decision. (for now, havent had a fill yet so i cant comment further).

I use an an android app called Lose It to track my calories, carbs, Protein, and fat.

Also, what do u eat on a typical day or two? My dr told me low carb... 30-50 g a day. I'm still on post op liquids but I'm trying to figure out how I will be eating on a typical day.

Well my typical day would look very different than yours, as you will be eating less protein and carbs than I do.

Also, do u exercise in addition to food?

Not a lot, I try to walk and move as much as I can, however I have MS so it makes exercise difficult

My doctor recommends not drinking carbonated beverages and would prefer that patients not drink caffeine. My program recommends only low / zero calorie drinks and no beverages for a half hour after eating... Beyond that, it's up to my stomach to determine what I can or cannot tolerate. I understand that popcorn is a food that can be very problematic with the kernals.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
