I received a new food processor for Christmas right after my banding. I run every veggie possible through it, then add spices, garlic and olive oil and roast big pans of mixed veggies.

celery

sweet potato (no white potato)

green cabbage

carrots

onions

peppers

zuccini and yellow squash

butternut squash

plus I add green Beans

cantenelli Beans and more.

Then I take slices from a store bought roasted chicken or turkey and puree it with a little broth. You can add as much liquid to make is soupy or chunky. Throw the veggies in, puree and it's a Protein veggie packed meal. If you like cream Soups, just use half a can...plus use the light or no or low fat versions with fat-free milk.

I really like this more specific list to eat! Now to make a grocery list to start getting some food for Thursday! How long did you do the mushy food for? My dr says just another week but yet I fell like maybe I should do a lil longer just because I am nervous. Has anyone tried the Walden Farms dressings/ mayos my nutritionist was raving about them and they are all cal free...

I start my pureed phase on Tuesday the 17th of July. Then I have to be on it for two weeks, then I get to switch to regular foods.

I got a lot of nice literature for my lap-band diet from the Life Help Center in St. Anthony's Hospital here in St. Pete, FL. I looked to see if they had the infromation online so I could link it. But could not find it. If you give them a call they might mail you a diet guide, its has a lot of good meal plans in there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
