Rebecca Cain Salpacka 100 Posted July 10, 2012 First fill (4cc) was june 4th..second fill (2.5cc) was yesterday july 9. after first fill, my portions were still the same as prior to fill..the difference was that it actually satisfied me. For the first 6 weeks from surgery til my first fill...i would stop eating before i was satisfied so i was hungry and wanting to eat within an hour, i just chose not to...and lost 18 lbs. and yes i know that was not the way to do it. at my first fill my surgeon said NEVER STAY HUNGRY FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME...eat whatever you need to be satisfied, and if its more than the suggested portions, then you get a fill...thats how it should work. well, those same portions were finally satisfying me, after my first fill...it was great going almost 5 weeks not feeling hungry...however, the first week after fill i lost 6 lbs and then only lost 2 more over the next 4 weeks. yesterday after my second fill...i came home and had cream of potato Soup...ive been eating a can of reduced fat Soup with crackers, i couldnt finish the can, and never touched the crackers. i later had 5 grapes, and a slice of cheese. I was good for the evening...and was not hungry. However, i was woken up about 1 a.m when hubby came home from work, and realized i was realllly hungry, had trouble going back to sleep..finally around 230 i ate another piece of cheese...and was able to fall asleep by 3. I just woke up at 630, made myself 1 whole egg and 1 eggwhite,...i cant finish it. I only had 4 bites. (i was eating two whole and one white, plus either broccoli or a piece of fruit) Is this what i can expect for a while (at least a few weeks) or do you sometimes have more restriction in just the first few days or week, and then it "loosens up"? If this is going to stay this way...yayyyy, fingers crossed!
brlgirl 112 Posted July 10, 2012 Sounds great!!! I missed my second fill date becuase I had pneumonia (I did lose 12 pounds in 3 weeks becuase of the antibotic taking away not only my appetite but also my "taste"). I am looking forward to my second fill and hope that I have the same results you did...I am so looking forward to the day when I can eat like I did when I was sick--a small amount and then I'm full. Good luck to you!!!
Rebecca Cain Salpacka 100 Posted July 10, 2012 Thank you! Sorry you had pneumonia, but glad you are on the mend. Good luck with your second fill.
ValleyGirlRN 32 Posted July 10, 2012 this is how my second fill has gone also...I've lost 9 lbs in not quite 3 weeks...can'eat much at all...I've been making sure to get my Protein and Vitamins in since I'm not able to eat nearly as much (can't finish a cup of yogurt half the time) 1 Rebecca Cain Salpacka reacted to this
highland 168 Posted July 10, 2012 In the beginning my fills were immediately felt. I would have great restriction for about 3 weeks then need another fill. However my last fill was in March and I've been good to go since!! Many people say their fills aren't felt for up to two weeks though. As we all state on here, everyone is different. Cyndie B 17 Posted July 10, 2012 Rebecca - You weight loss is wonderful and I'm sure you feel fantastic but be careful with losing too much weight too fast...there are many studies done that indicate if you lose too fast, it can hamper your ability to maintain once you reach your goal weight. I lost very fast in the beginning and wasn't taking in enough Protein and two things happened to me: I lost a ton of hair (because of the rapid weight loss and not enough protein) and I am now very flabby. Make sure you are doing your exercising while losing weight...now I am playing catch up with my flabbiness (trying to do arm, abs and thigh exercises like a mad woman) and trying to get my hair to grow back! Anyway, it also sounds like you are not getting enough Protein and that is not good. I would suggest incorporating Protein shakes because eating potato Soup does not take care of your protein intake. The eggs and cheese are good sources of protein. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer and I hope that I don't sound that way but I have a couple more months experience and trust me I love when the scale moves but it's much better to do it in slow steps... Keep up the good work! 1 Rebecca Cain Salpacka reacted to this

Keep up the good work! Thanks...admittedly yestereay was not a good protein day for me..but up til now, my protein has been great. chicken, beef, eggs, pork, lots of baked fish. I send my journal from MYFITNESSPAL over to my nutritionist every month sometimes every cpl weeks..i am going to start using a Protein powder to add to some foods, if i find that im not getting enough protein now that i have more restriction. I do Protein drinks once in a while..doc and nutrtionist both said NOOOO to them becuase they are empty calories..but they do actually keep me satisfied for 3-4 hours so i will do them sometimes for Breakfast if i know im gonna be on the go doing errands in the morning. I appreciate any input and tips you have so please..continue to share, its much needed.
