The Laughing Cat 54 Posted July 10, 2012 I'm in the same place and my will power is getting thin. What's holding me together is the scale results, going down.
akurre12 86 Posted July 10, 2012 I'm also in this spot! 3 weeks post op and trying really hard to stick to my three small meals. It's frustrating to me because my scale results have stopped, no weight lost last week! Hopefully we can get some good encouraging replies!
Bobisgettingsmaller 1 Posted July 10, 2012 I am nearly 6 weeks post op and I get my first fill on the 16th. I can tell you the half cup doesn't work for me right now. I tried and tried and my blood sugar would drop till I got sick. I am cutting back now so I have an easier time adjusting to my half cup after I have a fill, but until this week I have pretty much given up on the half cup at a time. Some people may be able to do it, but I can not do a half a cup at a time with no restriction. I don't eat anywhere near as much as I used to, but I do more than half a cup. 1 Cazzy reacted to this
Cazzy 725 Posted July 10, 2012 It might be an idea to increase your very small meals to 4 to 5 times a day and add some Snacks, keep your calories low and keep up your Protein intake. Drink plenty of Water too, half a cup 3 times a day when u are unrestricted i would have found impossible too. Some of you are still healing so u need to watch portion sizes, so increasing how many times a day u eat will not overload your pouch by too big portion. Snacks u can have 0 fat greek yoghurt, hot tea and weak coffee with skimmed milk, 0 fat cottage cheese, sf Jello u can make that with skimmed milk too, look under the food and nutrition section here for more ideas. U should be able to feel a lot more satisfied on maybe 1200 calories a day, This isnt an easy time, and i was warned that many people can put on a few lbs during this period, but that isnt inevitable if u watch what u eat and keep the will power going .. good luck 2 2muchfun and Kekeboo reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted July 10, 2012 LOL...Aint bandster hell great? I like the way B-52 puts it: It's all about restriction, otherwise it's just another diet. I was in BH for 3.5 months and didn't gain any weight. It's a good time to work on your food choices and eating skills. tmf 1 Cazzy reacted to this
Kekeboo 47 Posted July 10, 2012 7 days to go till I am banded. I am taking mental notes like crazy hoping it will keep me on track knowing what can be normal. I also appreciate the positive and encouraging feedback given here.
