I'm doing my 2 week preop diet, this first week is HMR shakes and Entrees, I'm having a hell of a time eating this food, has anyone else had to do this diet? Well, I'm wondering I'm allowed 2 entrees a day and unlimited fruits and veggies, I was thinking I would do a 4oz chicken breast or broiled cod in place of my meal. Do you think this is ok? The entrees have 200-250cal in each so I would be consuming less calories than the meals and the chicken/fish is 110ish calories....any advise??

I would speak with your doctor regarding not just cals but carb/protein/fat levels. My doctor put me on HMR 500 (just liquids). I lasted 6 days lost no weight and was having an allergic reaction so I stopped.

What kind of allergic reaction do you have? To the shakes?

After drinking the shakes I was getting a tingling sensation in the back of my throat. My brother gets that feeling when if he eats brazil or hazelnuts (deathly allergic). I was'nt taking any chances. Again, also gave it enough time to lose some weight and I lost nothing. I was doing an hour of moderate cardio daily so based on the whole calories in/out business I should have lost a lot of weight. At that point I weighed more than 300 pounds.

Its a brand of medical weight loss food system. Some people do liquid diet only 500 or 800 calories others get to have prepared foods like Nutrasystem.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
