kelli01 5 Posted July 8, 2012 THe last couple of times, I've been swimming especially in inground pools my band gets extremely TIGHT. I can't eat anything solid right now I've been banded around 16 months. I've been losing fine & wld consider myself in the green zone. Anyone else have this experience? TexasDy 53 Posted July 8, 2012 Could be b/c of the temperature. I've only been banded 2wks but I've heard cold foods/drinks could make it tight. That'd be my only thought.
honk 780 Posted July 8, 2012 I swim/do Water aerobic every day in a pool that is on the cold side. Never had a problem. In fact I am always hungry after a work out.
jessasmile78 6 Posted July 8, 2012 I'm a swim and Water aerobics instructor. Swimming can be anaerobic and aerobic depending on how you work out in the pool because you are in the water you don't really know how much you are sweating and are dehydrating your body and us banded patients will notice this even more I find after a workout in the pool if I immediately drink 20-40 oz of water I don't have problems with my Protein Drink or a light meal. kelli01 5 Posted July 8, 2012 Thanks so much! I think it was just a Combo of the heat, alcohol, and being outside swimming all day long. I did not drink Water how I shdve, and I did have some drinks lessoned learned.
Foxglove 8 Posted July 8, 2012 I SCUBA quite a bit and have never had a problem with my band. I checked with other banded divers before I got mine and was told it's a non-issue. I do not eat anything before I get on the boat to dive, however. But I didn't do that before I had the band, either.
