At What Fill Did You Reach Restriction?

Recommended Posts

Ok I've had 3 fills so far and I'm at 7cc in a 10cc band and I'm still not at restriction!! At what fill and cc amount did you reach your green zone??

That varies widely between individuals...so there is really no way to compare one person's experience with another's.

I have only 3cc of Fluid, and definitely feel some restriction, but believe I will need to have a minimum of 1-2 additional fills before I get to my green zone. I'm just a bit conservative, and have requested that my surgeon add Fluid at a slower rate than many of the posters on this forum.

Best wishes...

I kinda felt something on fill 3 but really once I got fill 4 I was able to go for 5+ hours of feeling full. So really just go by feel and be patient. You will get there! Good Luck!

I am on my 5th fill and I am at 6.1 cc's in a 10 cc band. I had my fill yesterday and boy am I tight...but I do finally feel like I'm in the green zone. My doctor said that around 6 cc's should be the green zone - but everyone is different.

I didn't feel restriction until my 3rd fill on July 5th, I have a 10cc band with a total of 7.5 in it now. (I had 6cc prior to July 5th) I now feel a lot of restriction... I can only eat soft foods and I am learning how much I can really eat, and that is a very small mount. When I ate today, I felt like after a few bites, the food was sitting there and wanted to come back up, so I"m thinking I tried to eat too much (and that was only like a cup of baked samon. ) good luck :D

I'm at 5.5 cc but falling out of green zone...so I need a fill. I'm beginning to get hungry in between meals and weight not dropping. A sign I might need a very small fill. Everyone is different. My surgeon told me you could go for months without needing a fill...some don't even need a fill just the initial surgery. Crazy right? I would think as you lose weight your band would need small adjustments. Mine does at this point. Banded dec 21, 2010 started at 268, down to 187. But I wanted to go extremely slow. It has paid off now I'm ready for more weight loss ( goal possibly 145-150)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
