waitingpatiently 250 Posted July 5, 2012 Ok so I have been (am) on the hunt for low carb foods that will replace chips. And boy have I tried a lot!! Anyway i ran across a product the other day that I think will help. The are called Moon Pops. They are kind of like very thin rice cakes. I wouldn't say they are flavorfull....more like the absence of flavor. But they are crunchy and thats what I needed. They have 16 calories/0 fat/ 4 carbs for 1 piece about a 6" circle. They don't hold up well to heat, they get rubbery--like a stale cheese puff. but they are good with a thin layer of Peanut Butter or a thin layer of cream cheese and sugar free jam, a thin layer of your favorite dip....I even put a thin layer of refriend Beans, cheese and ff sour cream. They real have no flavor so they just provide the crunch I was looking for. I found them at kroger in virginia, but have not seen then anywhere else...maybe on line. Just thought I would share. Does anyone else have a good suggestion? I have considered veggies already...while good...they taste like veggies with a topping. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
Ric 89 Posted July 5, 2012 My Dr. told me to not worry about calories, carbs or anything like that she said I shouldn't be eating enough foods that it makes a difference. I have lost over 80lbs in a year with no worries I also experment with most every food I try to eat! if it dosn't work I don't eat it again! Most foods I can handle. Good luck! 5 Bandista, Debbie3sons, sthenny and 2 others reacted to this
mrsclooney918 47 Posted July 5, 2012 I find that baby dill pickles really satisfy my potato chip craving. Salty and crunchy. Sometimes I grab a few when dinner isn't for a while and need that little something to hold me over. 6 readytogoforit, aviva1979, Carol.mcpherson and 3 others reacted to this
NWgirl 574 Posted July 5, 2012 I don't know the nutritional breakdown, but what about rice crackers?
Krussell19 217 Posted July 5, 2012 special K has a new kind of cracker out i was just looking at them! your get 23 crackers for 90 calories and there is no way i need 23 crackers so i could eat far less for way less calories! (approx 4 cals per cracker) and i buy the low fat whipped cream cheese veggie dip you get 2 table spoons for 40 cals and i add jalapenos to it which is nothing in cals because you need an entire oz of them for 5 cals and i only use 4 or so. So for around 60 cals a nice snack thats delicious! 9 Jenn_Kacz, chloesmom, Nyt and 6 others reacted to this
alexd 12 Posted July 5, 2012 I got Moon Pops for my daughters 11 and 2.5 years old they really liked it, but it didn't sit well with them, both had runs for a few days after eating this stuff. So be careful.
alexd 12 Posted July 5, 2012 I snack on dry roasted almonds, make apple chips or even potato chips in the microwave without frying. I got this chip maker from Amazon.< /p> 4 Terry Poperszky, SusieO, mandyloft and 1 other reacted to this
123crod 170 Posted July 5, 2012 Soy crisps are good. You can get them at Krogers are online. You can get BBQ, SourCream and Onion, and Sea Salt. Don't remember the break down but I think you get about 15 for no fat or low fat very few calories or carbs. Very crunchy and good! Cheri
cmoody821 44 Posted July 5, 2012 I found a recipe on interest for zucchini chips. They're sliced very thin and baked. As soon as I can eat food again I am making them!
auntielle 42 Posted July 5, 2012 You may want to try Kay's Natural Protein Snacks. 120 for a package & I never finish a whole one. I got boxes @ Amazon. However, I saw them for sale individually @ Walgreens. Try the different flavors. They work for me.
apappas02 11 Posted July 5, 2012 What about pop chips? They are really yummy and come in a few different flavors. Not sure of nutritional information.

Jachut 487 Posted July 6, 2012 I airpop popcorn, spray w ith olive oil and salt it, with a light spray of oil the salt sticks, rather than falling to the bottom of the bowl. Its healthy - fibre, nutrients and good fat and i dont feel toooo guilty about the salt in the absence if chemical flavouring. Low calorie too. 2 Debbie3sons and aviva1979 reacted to this
