I am on my fitness pal and am not sure what my caloric intake should total in a day. They default set it pretty high and I don't think I could get there if I tried! I was banded 6/14, but i didn't think to ask at my follow up apt. I don't go back until 7/20 when I get my first fill.

Call the nutritionist in your surgeon's office to see what their practice reccommends. As we see on here all the time, all surgeons are different. Did you not get an eating plan?

I got an eating plan with suggestions, but I didn't get an actual number amount. I will look back through it to make sure. Thanks!

My nutritionist and surgeon didn't recommend a specific calorie count until I asked for it. The logic behind this was that the surgeon doesn't want us to focus on numbers but rather on making sensible food choices. I asked for a specfic calorie guideline as I was more concerned about not eating enough following surgery. I think it is a great idea to call the office and get their recommendation.

By the way, my surgeon said the daily calorie target is 1000 - 1200.

Thanks. I checked my plan again and nothing is on it. I am also afraid if not getting enough. I know that can slow weight loss down just as much. My sample menu is fine, but I really don't like the choices they have! I have been trying to stick to it as much as possible, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks again!

My doctor said to ignore calories, count Protein. I too use FitnessPal and I set the calories at 1000. in 10 weeks I went over that amount twice. Now with my 3rd fill, I am so restricted, I don't hit 800, but my protein is doing fine.

Ask your doctor to be sure.
