abrinson889 14 Posted July 5, 2012 Has anyone had problems with insurance denying for failure to lose weight on the supervised diet prior to surgery? That is the last thing I am waiting on and would hate to get denied because I didn't lose any and actually gained a few pounds!
Jean McMillan 2,973 Posted July 5, 2012 I didn't have to do a diet for insurance purposes, but I have never heard of someone being denied coverage for failure to lose weight on the pre-op diet. Your surgeon's insurance coordinator could probably give you better insight about this.
Mayasgram 351 Posted July 5, 2012 My Dr told me not to lose weight on the one year wait I had to do for Bl, Cross Bl. Shield. and after that year they said they had 90 days to decide on the 90th day they approved. During that year like any diet I was ever on I lost and gained back more . Good Luck who knows what an insurance company will do , I think my Dr insistence that it wasn't just my weight but my asthma, reflux and blood pressure that was a determining factor. The Dr went to bat for me .
