alley-gator 96 Posted July 4, 2012 I am at a family bbq for the 4th, and I am miserable. It's close to 100 and I am 245 lbs. I am determined that for our bbq on the 4th next year I will be ay least 50 lbs lighter, if not more. I should be banded some time in December, and until then I am hot, sticky, sweaty, and miserably fat. I am wy the start of my 6 month diet, but can't truly diet because I am literally 2 lbs away from 40 bmi and so I still have to wear weights to my consultation on the 25th. Today, I am more determined then ever to be banded and be helped to lose weight.
running_scared 125 Posted July 5, 2012 Why would you want to stall on losing weight, if you can do it now?

I started doing some strength training last week hoping that post surgery my body will be more efficient in burning calories. Id love to stay in touch as we still have a long time to anticipate being banded.
Lannae 46 Posted July 5, 2012 I use to know the feeling, I was so sick of things, I either wanted to cry, scream, hide, or just give up..but I had my surgery in march, and now down over 40pds, keep the focus, get through it and you are right next year will be a way diffrent story, that is a given!!! 1 LiveStrong41 reacted to this
JamieNP 20 Posted July 5, 2012 I was in your shoes 4 years ago!. Take pictures, keep a diary. Your life will change so much!. Get excited and motivated and remember this feeling! You never want feel like this again! When you get your band, go ALL OUT! Exercise, take your Vitamins and stick with the diet. You will be happy with the results. Then next year at your cook out, everyone will be telling you how great you look!
alley-gator 96 Posted July 5, 2012 Why would you want to stall on losing weight' date=' if you can do it now?[/quote'] Running scared- If I lose even 1 lb I will be below 40 bmi. If I drop below 40 bmi, I can get the band because insurance won't pay. If insurance won't pay, I can't get the band.

JamieNP 20 Posted July 5, 2012 I was right on the line also. As soon as you get the approval, start your diet Remember, a liter of Water weighs 2.2 lbs.
alley-gator 96 Posted July 5, 2012 Jwrn thanks! I totally intend to stay right where I am at, and then start doing a couple shakes and a sensitible dinner... I would love to lose as much as possible before surgery! 1 NWgirl reacted to this
punkin623 6 Posted July 5, 2012 Tomorrow I have an appt to find the results of my sleep study, sleep apnea = insurance pays, no sleep apnea = I pay. I also have my 2nd dietician appt tomorrow. Thanks for heads up about the Water weight equivalent!
alley-gator 96 Posted July 5, 2012 Punkin do you feel like you might have sleep apnea? I wouldn't be surprised a bit if I did, but it isn't likely ill have to do a sleep study. My surgeon doesn't even do upper gi on every patient unless he suspects a problem. I hope you don't have to pay yourself, that's a big chunk of change! Less than 4 weeks to my consultation- I wish it would be tomorrow so I could ask all my questions & get the ball rolling ya know? I see everyone on that day- the nutritionist, personal trainer, psychologist, doctor and insurance specialist.
punkin623 6 Posted July 5, 2012 My BMI is 35 so I need a co-morbidity condition to be qualified to be banded. sleep apnea qualifies. My husband "diagnosed" me months ago! Lol! It's hard to be patient when I am reading about everyone's success. It is reassuring to hear of all the different weightless journeys. Where are you located? It's unfortunate that you need to wait so long for all of you initial consultations. Take care my friend
alley-gator 96 Posted July 6, 2012 Punkin I am in Utah, what about you? I agree about the success stories, but I do get nervous about possible complications.
