ygarza 10 Posted July 2, 2012 I read on my discharge papers that I should be taking Multi Vitamins. Can someone tell me what I should be taking?
Jim1967 3,569 Posted July 2, 2012 I took just a basic Multivitamin that you buy over the counter. I would ask them to clarify for sure what they want you to take. Post-op I took chewables for a couple of weeks until I was back on solids.
jen_1381 446 Posted July 2, 2012 I would definitely check with your surgeon since each is different, but I'm taking a liquid multi, liquid Vit D and liquid Vit B12. I opted for the liquid so I could start it sooner, I was Vitamin deficient before surgery and needed the extra.
honk 780 Posted July 2, 2012 My doctor said to take flintsone multi with CHOLINE (look for that), I buy costco store brand. I also take Caltrate plus chewable (has extra D), Vitamin D gummies (I have low levels), Vitafusion Gummy Fiber, and Biotin (5,000 mg).

Jim1967 3,569 Posted July 2, 2012 Oh and Jim - GREAT job on the weight loss!! You're rocking at this! I bet 47 lbs in 10 weeks feels amazing!! Thanks Jen!! It does feel great but I must admit I still get impatient sometimes. I have to stop and really think about how far I've come in such a short time. I guess when you have 180 pounds to lose after already dropping 83 it tends to weigh on your mind a bit...no pun intended. 1 Cazzy reacted to this
jen_1381 446 Posted July 2, 2012 I feel ya there - I have to remind myself every morning that I step on the scale that losing 0.6 lbs it better than gaining 0.6 lbs. I still don't see any change in my body like others do. Maybe after I make it to half of my goal I will feel differently but right know I'm still at the bottom of the steep hill!! NWgirl 574 Posted July 2, 2012 I was told I could take Centrum chewables and a Calcium chew. There are many brands of bariatric surgery specific Vitamins too (Opurity, Bariatric Advantage, etc).
