Holla bandsters! I was banded June 26 and my first fill is 9 days later, going thru the postings, I see nobody that has been filled that soon! Anyone? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Really? Hmmm...I was banded on 6/12/12, and scheduled for fill on 7/30, but Dr. says that is tentative based on my performance and weightloss before then. I'm curious about your situation.

I got my first fill at 4 weeks. Every surgeon seems to have their own routine. If you're doubting the timing, ask your doctor. I'm sure he has logic behind it. Maybe he just does a small fill? My first fill was 3 cc's. I go in every four weeks for another fill until I hit the ellusive Green Zone. My surgeon prefers to fill the first few months regardless of progress - I expressed at my first fill that I was scared he may not do it because I was steadily losing weight, but the loss was all diet-controlled; I still felt hungry between meals but didn't indulge.

I have a call in to the nurse. I have lost around 25 pounds since May, banded on June 26. I only had liquid diet for one week but I am walking like crazy! Thanks everyone!

I had a one week post op check up and then wasn't scheduled for my first fill until 6 weeks post op. In fact my surgeon wouldn't even consider a dill until I was past that 6 week mark. When I was banded he put in 3cc of Fluid in my band.

Thanks everyone for the info, the nurse is unsure, well she's unsure of just about everything, lol not judging Nurses work hard for sure. Maybe when they called to schedule my 1st fill, they really meant to say post-op visit? We are only human, for now anyway. I will find out Thursday at 1:30pm (believe that) !

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
