Ab Workout

Recommended Posts

I am on my 4th week post op. I tried doing some light crunches day before yesterday. I had no pain or discomfort, so I did the same thing yesterday morning. By afternoon time, I was in excruciating pain! My dr said I could exercise and gave no restrictions but I probably won't try again with the crunches for another few weeks!

Maybe consulting with a personal trainer for guidance or doing some research online could help you find a modified ab workout that works better for you.

It is important to differentiate between the good pain of stressing muscle tissue ('feel the burn!') and the bad pain of straining wounds that need to heal or risking injury.

@ Brenty. I have started taking glucosamine/chondroiton. I think it helps. For weeks before starting it, my knee kept popping/cracking (it wasn't painful during that)when bending walking up stairs or during squats and like a few hours after my first dose the popping stopped. Coincidence, maybe but I'm still taking it.

As for finding my groove, yeah, I do give a little credit to the band, so that's why I'm not 100% against it, but I still would remove it in a heartbeat. As for pushing myself I LOVE feeling sore the next day. Yes, I may say, OMG I'm so sore, but in reality I love it. It means I've had an excellent workout and my muscles are working to rebuild themselves. I do a bootcamp class on Sundays and that usually makes me really sore, so I usually use Monday as my off day. Thoguh this week, I am not taking a day off. Because I can't kick box on Saturday because I'm going to do the Warrior Dash in Jersey, so I didn't want to lose a class. Yeah I may be certifiably insane. LOL

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
