lucypets 6 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi, I was banded on 6/28 and that day I felt really good. Today I feel like I have to burp really bad when I stand up and I even ran to the bathroom 2 times today trying to vomit. Nothing comes up because I have not really eaten or drank anything. Please someone tell me this is normal and it will get better! I am taking my meds and put one of my antinausea rubs on a few hours ago. I took some advice and went and bought some Gas-X strips. That is when it made me want to vomit. I did feel like I was getting rid of some gas and did feel somewhat better afterward. But I go back to feeling the same way I was. ancsmom 2 Posted July 2, 2012 I'm one day ahead of you, & today I feel quite a bit better. I was doing the burping thing all day yesterday... & today it's only happened a few times. Hang in there!!!
velvetbuckle 3 Posted July 2, 2012 Sounds like you may be dehydrated friend, you need to drink, slowly and consistently, I am 5 days out and haven't been nauseous. I did gas x chewables, either way call your Dr in the morning, they will know what to tell you for sure! Good luck friend.
NWgirl 574 Posted July 2, 2012 The feeling will go away, just do not try to purposefully vomit.
gottobeme 81 Posted July 2, 2012 Be sure you are drinking plenty of Water. I actually set the alarm on my phone for 10-15 min the first few days and drank approx 1 oz of Water at a time (I was afraid to try to drink more or faster). I was told dehydration is the most common reason people had problems post op. Be more concerned about getting your liquids in than anything else. Try for at least 48 oz of Fluid a day right now. More is better. sugar free popsicles help get your fluids in and are tasty too! Days 3 and 4 were the worst for me! It gets better!! I was lucky and never had the gas issue from surgery...from what I've read though the best thing to do for it is walk, walk, walk.
