illinoisGal 1 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi all, wondering how long after the surgery did you have to see the doctor again. Also, is the next appt. after that just for the fill? I have taken so much time off work for all the pre surgery appt.s that I can't wait until these are over. My surgery is coming up on Tuesday, July 3rd and I can't wait! sman342 13 Posted July 2, 2012 Depending on your line of work, you should be able to go back to work July 6 and have the weekend again to rest. As far as Dr appointments, it depends on your practice's protocol. One week after surgery - post-op follow-up with PA One month after that - first fill and nutritionist appointment 1 Cazzy reacted to this
Cazzy 725 Posted July 2, 2012 Sman is right, everyones doctor/surgeon is different, so u will need to check it with them as to what the timescales are for visits
SageTracey 608 Posted July 2, 2012 How long you take off depends on how you handle the anaesthetic, recover from the surgery and whether your job is physically demanding or not. I took two weeks off and am glad that I did. I was banded on a Wednesday and went to a concert on the Sunday night - not a good idea. Would have had my surgery after the concert but my surgeon said I would be fine.
Kate rules 43 Posted July 2, 2012 I was off completely for one week. Limited duty 6 weeks. Post op follow up 10 days. Have a physically demanding job so limited duty necessary. If I had more vacation time I would have taken whole time off because I had to take heating pad with me to office.
