:help: Hello!

I just joined the group and am hoping it is the "kick in the butt" I need. I was banded on March 29, 2005 by Dr. Ortiz. My weight was 215 and as of this morning I weigh 184. I have weighed 184 for months now! I don't think its the fault of the band .... ????? Not sure. I seem to be able to eat crackers and things I shouldn't eat, but when I try to eat a "normal" meal I end up sliming. Maybe Im going to fast, not small enough bites, etc. Anyway, the weight is not moving down because I'm putting in to many calories of the wrong foods. I'm not sure where to go from here........ is anyon else having similar problems??? I would love to hear from you if you are ...........

Hi, I was banded about the same time as you by Dr. Ortiz. Just a week apart. You can check out my stats below. I think my issue is exercise. I work a lot and have A LOT going on outside of that. I just don't have time or energy to really bust out a good sweat. If I would, I know I could drop another 10-15

Thank you, Jenna, for your reply. Have you been back to Dr. Martinez for fills? If so, would you mind telling me how much fill you have? I wonder if that is my problem. Some days I can eat a LOT more than other days. I think exercise and my age have a lot to do with this, too. Thank you.. Phyllis

I have around 2.2 cc's I think right now. Yes, ONLY Dr. Martinez touches me. I swear I am in love with that man! I have my days of eating and being finicky too. I have toyed with the idea of getting a fill, but I just know it is me and not the band.

I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the board. This is a wonderful place for support, information, and the occasional well meant kick in the fanny when needed. Glad you are here!

I was banded on friday July 12. I can't really complain except for the gas pains but they get better the more I walk . I love this site. It is great to be able to get info from people who have had it done. Still on Clear Liquids but I'm waiting patiently for full liquids.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
