I Think The Free Ride Is Coming To An End.....

Recommended Posts

All of the weight I have lost has been just by eating less. I haven't really watched what I eat or exercised. I do make sure I get my Protein, fluids and eat low carb, mostly. Haven't made any effort to track calories or fat. I have just been coasting along. But the last two months I have only lost about 5-6 pounds so I think the "free ride" is coming to an end. It was fun while it lasted. :)

You might get lucky and just do a small amount of exercise and it could fall off of you

After i was got restriction after my 3rdmom fill, i coasted too. Never counted anything. I ate about just as poorly as I did pre band, just much less. That got me to the first 100 lbs. Havent lost anymore on this current regimen. My band slipped a couple mths ago and had to unfill. Had my 2ndmom fill last week and im starting to feel i n control again. Ive noti ced myeslef havving tow atch my calories in the interim.

Well i was happy with a rate of only 2 or 3 lbs a month and i coasted all the way yo. Bmi of 21, it just took me a year to lose the last 10 lbs. I did/do exercise though, regular running and spinning.

Sure, if you want faster youll have to work harder.

I know for me, eatimg what i want in smaller amounts is the only thing that works. I like and eat plenty of healthy foods and i do mot follow every single whim, but sometimes, i do eat cake for lunch!

Yep, I am thinking it is time to start walking if my broken back can take it. Might need to tighten up on the carbs also to help with my blood sugar. I'm coming up on being banded a year on Oct. 3rd and I would like to reach 100 pounds down by then. I think I can make it if I just buckle down. Or at least I can get close..

if you have problems walking, try walking in a pool. Many people with mobility issues find that in the Water they don't have the pain. Actually while walking in a pool is easier on your body, the resistance from the water that you don't even really notice makes it a good work out and no sweating is a big plus too.

I noticed a difference in my own eating behavior once I reached a personal weight goal. I've allowing some old bad habits to creep back in. This is a hard time of the year to lose weight with BBQs, vacations, relatives etc. Still losing, just have to adjust to losing less and being happy about it.

I have always done things like you describe. You have just hit a plateau which is very common. After a year with no fills, and doing just fine, I came to a point where nothing changed for 2-3 months, kept gaining, then loosing the same 5 lbs.

The Dr. gave me a additional 1/2 cc fill and that licked me off the cliff so to speak and the weight began coming off again.

After a while it slowed down again, but I changed (intensified) my workouts at the gym. Things began to move again.

Things have since slowed down yet again, but I am not sure if there is any more weight I can loose that is not muscle.

I still do not care about calories, how much or how little I eat. I just "Listen" to my band and live a normal day to day life, like all normal fit people do.

If you vary your calories and foods over the course of the week, it can help kickstart your metabolism. Just make sure that you're getting all the Vitamins, minerals, and Protein -- which varies from person to person -- you need, and if your average calories is less than you burn, you will get there. I think we've all been there at some point. Just keep it up! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
