tacwoman 0 Posted March 12, 2006 I am 9 weeks post-op and have had one fill which did nothing much for me. The first couple weeks after fill slight restriction, got fuller little faster but could still eat alot. Its been 3 weeks since fill and now I can eat almost anything and bigger portions is this normal??? Hopeing to get another fill this week or next... Not to mention I have gained 2.5 pounds this week... Also I am having the pulling sensation in my stomach about where the band should be I seem to notice this more about 30 mins after eating is this the pouch stretching some or is the food trying to pass through the stoma. It doenst really hurt but is noticeable on intermittent basis, NOT CONSTANT feeling and can last for a couple hours . Would appreciate some feedback. PLEASE! bandayed 0 Posted March 12, 2006 Not sure I'm what you'd consider a long time bandster but I noticed after my first fill that I was extremely restricted for 3 weeks. After that I found I could eat alot too! i guess the point though is to NOT do this -- only eat what you need to and leave the rest. I am waiting on a second fill as well. I have had less & less restriction over the last few weeks and my weight loss has slowed way down (stopped) I had a pulling sensation at about 1.5 -2 months post op but it was closer to one of my upper incisions. Doc said it was a subcutaneous stitch he uses to "hold things in place" after a couple weeks of this feeling -- it was gone too. Not sure if it dissolved, or if fat loss made everything reposition or what, but it hasn't recurred................always check with your Doc though, especially if you think it is related to eating. tilly 5 Posted March 12, 2006 Ive been banded for a year and have gone through all the above, Ive had a pulling sensation occasionally but not a clue what it is, I suppose its an "alien" body inside us and will now and again be able to be "sensed" the fills, well, they are a case of hit and miss until you find your "sweet spot" some people only need 3 to get there some need 15 its all a case of how your tum and band react. Ive had a couple of fills that did nothign whatsoever and a couple that have been marvellous, I think im possibly at the sweet spot now but cant really be sure. dont worry, once your fills get right you will be fine
fabfatgrl 10 Posted March 13, 2006 I think for most people, the first fill does not stick for very long. I even remember being told that i would probably need another fill 4-8 weeks after the first fill. Not sure why, but it's normal.
