2muchfun 8,927 Posted July 1, 2012 I don't think I will ever recommend this procedure to someone. This operation should be as a last resort. And no one ever told me the degree of pain I would be suffering from. From what I read everyone was like, "yeah, there's some pain." They lied. It is extremely painful and extremely scary with a bunch of other negative possibilities. Who the heck would willingly say "I'll do it" if they knew it would cause level 10 pains (even with liquid loretabs) for days? Had I known I think I might have gone for those nachos I was craving a week before surgery instead. Maybe I'll change my mind later, I just got banded on the 27th...but for now, no references from me. It even hurts to hiccup. GRRRRRR Not trying to judge you but for me and many others there wasn't much pain at all. For me, maybe 2 on a scale of 1-10. I mostly suffered from the medications and anesthesia but no real pain. Your pain will be a distant memory soon and you will not regret your decision. tmf

GRRRRRR I am so sorry you had so much pain, I did not have that much pain I took the pain meds for about two days then I was fine. Maybe you should be talking to your doc if you are still in pain. good luck and God Bless you Lassie

GRRRRRR i was in pain also but far from level 10...and if it hurts that much, like the others said, tell your dr i would recommend this surgery to anyone who asked me but stress it is up to that person to change your mental attitude and what you eat (those of us who got banded did not get this way by eating lettuce) all the best
icandothisforme 20 Posted July 1, 2012 If someone came up to me I would tell them it is none of their business and walk away. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted July 1, 2012 people who are overweight know it and the majority dont really want to be reminded....or how to (fix) it.
Dawn200321 146 Posted July 1, 2012 I understand what your saying. I too find myself seeing more and more overweight people. I am sure they have always been there but I think I am just noticing them more now. I am sure I would never go up to a person and recommend they have weight loss surgery though. I feel that is a very personal and private decision to the person involved
Shoshanna 98 Posted July 2, 2012 Sometimes I am gripped by Born Again Thin Person desires to Spread the Lapband Gospel. Fortunately my mother taught me that it is rude to make personal remarks and I manage to restrain myself.
