Wisdom2KnowTheDifference 32 Posted June 29, 2012 Good morning! I have my first consult this morning and I am getting nervous. I am worried they are going to tell me its not even worth it to submit to my insurance (my policy says they don't cover WLS, though the insurance company does in general - UHC). Not sure hubby is going to be on board with self pay... he is worried about long term expenses, possible complications, not being covered. I guess we will just have to wait and see what they say!! Any advice would be appreciated.
mommykristie 59 Posted June 29, 2012 Good luck! If you are dealing with a WLS surgeon that has lots of experience, the good news is that they will more likely be able to tell you before you leave exactly what your out of pocket costs will be with your particular insurance. Since they deal with insurance on a daily basis, they usually can tell you down to the penny how much is covered, what is covered, what hoops you will have to go through, etc. I hope you have a wonderful consult and are able to get all of your questions answered.
