Pain Under Breatbone?

I am 4 days post-op . Just about everytime I take a real deep breath I get bad pain. It is where my band is. Is this normal and will it go away? Otherwise I am doing great. No pain at any incisions or even the port site. Could it be gas?

Yes it could be gas. They pump it into your abdominal cavity during surgery and it takes some time for your body to reabsorb it.

Walking helps, I found a heating pad to bring some relief, too.

I had my band 10 days ago and every time i breathed in I felt a sharp pain but it's gone now my nurse told me it was the travelling wind that causes it!

Thank you I was worried I might have pulled something . I have found if I lean forward to take a deep breath it doesnt hurt . I know thats weird but whatever works right.
