Great for you, it took me over a year before they would submit my paperwork. The 6 months had to be consecutive. I had surgery this past Monday.

Congrats! I love my band! I was banded 4.5 years ago and have lost 90 pounds and just had a Tummy Tuck, lower body lift and breast lift. The band changed my life and I wish you the same success.

Good luck to you!

Man, I always feel horrible for people who have to fight the insurance companies for approval.

From my seminar to surgery was 2.5 months. So insurance fell somewhere in there, lol.

Comgrats, though!!!

Thanks again!

Since Surgery is right around the corner, i just ordered my favorite protien powder to replenish my pantry. 2 weeks of shakes may just drive me mad but i've fought tooth and nail to have this done so i best make the most of it! (can i still complain every now and again though ..he he)

Now i just need to take a before picture...that's going to be hard since i have avoided cameras for at least the past couple years! EEEK!

I wish i would have taken better before pictures.... and continued taking them in the same outfit.

Most of us "fluffy" people avoid camera. My husband is a part-time photographer.... and every time he would take one i would make him delete it..... Now i'm glad he kept a few.

I remember after i got approved.... i ate every thing i could....lol..... it was another version of the good the bad and the ugly....hehe. I will chat with you later.... have a great weekend

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
