While I realized you are probably following doctor's orders regarding mushys it could be that it is too soon for your body. I was not on mushys until day 15. Some people report when they eat too much they get that kind of back pain. Your issue might not be the amount you're eating but the type of food ie mushys. Personally I would do for liquids for a few more days before trying mushys again.

Pain in your left shoulder or your back is common (especially in the beginning). There is a nerve near your stoma that goes up to the left shoulder and back area. When you get full or the stoma registers full, that can make this nerve goes a bit nuts. I really don't remember the name of the nerve but you can google - pain in shoulder with lapband or pain in back with lapband and you will find it. Drove me crazy for about 1-2 months. No problem now unless I eat too much.

I went out to eat and ate soft foods and it was good!! I ate too much and my back was sore. The Dr said it was my band telling me not to do that.
