I'm day 3 post op and that happened to me this morning...I drank some Water and it continued so I made my self 1 scrambled egg (with PAM no oil) and not even half an egg later the growling stopped...I think it's normal considering last time I ate was 6-7 pm yesterday.

It's completely normal. Your going to go through this many times and you will learn what real hunger and head hunger is.

yes. I called the office and they said eat several 4 - 6 1/2 cup meals until you get to green zone. It is hard until then. It is really too hard to do only 3 - 1/2 cup meals until you have fills. Hang in there through bandster hell. It gets better.

I'm 6 days post op and I have experienced the same thing. My surgeon called me yesterday and said it is very normal to be experiencing hunger at this point and to just stay strong. Are you on a liquid diet?

I just couldn't keep up the liquid diet after 3 days past surgery. I was extremely weak, and felt really sick. I started out with a scrambled egg (cooking spray - no oil) as well, and it helped a LOT. I've ate soft foods ever since then. Just remember to chew chew chew, and eat very slowly. And I wouldn't eat full foods, just soft. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
