akurre12 86 Posted June 27, 2012 I had my surgery last Monday, 6/18, and I can't get the marker off of my stomach haha! I still have my surgeons initials and my incisions numbered. Any tips or tricks to get this off without having to scrub extremely hard? (still a little tender!)
sam3841 57 Posted June 27, 2012 Try an oil based make up remover. It also gets maker off my skin.
Shelleymb 75 Posted June 27, 2012 mr clean magic eraser!
icestorm12132008 39 Posted June 27, 2012 you should not use MR eraser on your skin. ever esp. over your incisions. That skin is still really new it will eventually come off, if it bothers you I'd ask your surgon what they use to remove it. it does eventually wash off with soap and Water. I use to work in a surgical unit as a teen it usually took 3 good sponge baths for the makring lines to fully disapear. and we did not harshly scrub wounds we barely touched them. Just leave your wounds be and heal up. --icestorm12132008 1 Mygalshirl reacted to this
schell75 1 Posted June 27, 2012 It will come off. Don't use that magic eraser it can burn your skin.
banditalovely 25 Posted June 27, 2012 alcohol swabs (like those sold at Walmart for $2 in the pharmacy/diabetes section) will take take off permanent marker, just don't do it on open wounds. If you accidentally do, you will see/feel why...

Actually a lot of us do. But DON't use it on an open wound. 1 Mygalshirl reacted to this
akurre12 86 Posted June 27, 2012 Thanks for the replies! I like the alcohol wipe suggestion, I forgot I used to use that all the time to get permanent marker off of my hands! I won't have an issue getting it into my incisions by accident because my sani strips are still on. It's been 9 days sinch surgery...I wonder if that's an issue that they haven't fallen off yet. They told me not to pull them off, so I've just been ignoring it but not that I think about it...the book said they would stay on for about 7 days. Hmmm...
