No Weight Loss In Over 2 Months

Recommended Posts

I was doing great losing weight steadily 1-2 lbs a week, then it came to a halt i noticed i was able to eat more and was snacking. over the next few weeks i went in for small fills, finally i noticed i was eating less and not snacking BUT i was sick and had alot of drainage so when i would go to bed i would wake up puking it would come up so fast and forceful i would jump up out of bed and to the bathroom (sometimes i did not make it) and i could not get over my cough. It was a thurs. when i got the small fill and by the next tue. i went in and they gave me a small unfill but i had lost 3 lbs.

Well then i went in 2 weeks later and weight was the same no loss. She said she just took a teeny tiny bit out and didnt want to put any back in. she said i had a considerable amount in and should be good at this point. i have 5.5 in a 10cc band.

one of my questions is does that teeny tiny bit make that much diff? i dont understand how at one point i could eat good amount then get a small fill and am too tight then has a teeny bit taken out and now am right back where i was, does she not want to give me a fill because it will be too tight again? i feel like i dont have the restriction i once had when i was losing but am close. again i am not gaining just staying the same.

is it possible i could have a stretched pouch? i think i am going to try the 5 day pouch test. i am also thinking about going back in for a fill. although i am not sure she will give me one. any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

I do think that even a tiny fill/unfill can make a BIG difference. SO- work with what you have. Sometimes you just have to use willpower and mind over matter. DO the 5 day pouch test, that is always a good "reset."

Do you log your food? If not, you really should- see what you are actually eating vs what you think you are eating. Also exercise.

It is much better to be a smidge too loose than a smidge too tight- if you're too lose or just not quiiiite in the sweet spot, work with it so that when you lose a little more weight you might be able to get another fill to get you to the sweet spot.

Hope that helps/makes sense!! Good luck!!!

Well, I don't think you need a fill. Yes a tiny bit can make all the difference.

I went almost 5 months with out losing an ounce 294.4 every flipping time I got on the scale.< /p>

I seen my dr. we both agreed I did not need a fill. Seen my nutritionist, she said everything I was doing/eating was great. Exercise - great. She suggested I add strength training to my exercise routine. I joined the "pump it" class twice a week. After the first week I broke that plateau. That was 3 months and 15 pounds ago!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
