jen_1381 446 Posted June 26, 2012 JSI is right, that's your port. Sometimes I can feel mine really well, other times not so much. I would avoid messing with it much the first few weeks since you're still healing. They're typically sewn into your abdominal muscle wall. I'm 5 weeks out and just started abdominal exercises, mine is a little sore after but not bad.
SageTracey 608 Posted June 26, 2012 Two to three inches is awfully big for a port. Mine would be no more than half an inch across. It may be and most likely is your port, but just check next time you see your dr.
mommykristie 59 Posted June 26, 2012 It could also be scar tissue. I have a large area about the same size. I had assumed it was my port since it was right above my large incision. It turns out that my port was actually below my incision! What I was feeling was simply scar tissue.
shawna_s 8 Posted June 26, 2012 I was thinking scar tissue as well.
schell75 1 Posted June 27, 2012 If it is scar tissue then you can massage it regularly to help break it up.
