ValleyGirlRN 32 Posted June 25, 2012 I'm not on any prescribed meds, therefore never really thought about this before...Do we need to decrease the doses of meds, such as over the counter meds (ie benadryl, tylenol, motrin)??? DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 25, 2012 Actually the absorption rate isn't quicker because the food still travels the exact same path through the stomach and intestines as it did before surgery. It's Gastric Bypass patients that have the absorption issues because the intestines have been re-routed. Not Lap-Band patients. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
