Shopping For Smaller Clothes...thrift Stores!!!

Recommended Posts

I started to replace my larger clothes and it gets expensive... So I started shopping at thrift stores and its actually working out well. I spent like 122 and got 6 pairs of capri pants and 4 pairs shorts and 10 shirts and they were all cute. I am wondering if anyone else has gone this route with replacing there clothes? I then went home and cleared out all the clothes that just hung on me and took to a donate center so hopefully someone else can use them.

Last summer I got a couple of things on clearance that I thought I might be able to wear this summer. I got some 10/12 and now this summer they fit perfect. Although the 12s are a little big, but still wearable. I did the same thing for the winter stuff. So I should be pretty set come fall.

Congrats!!

I've never had a problem shopping trift, I love the hunt and excitement when you find something awesome for less than 5 dollars. I've been shopping trift stores since I was a kid. Makes so much sense to shop for all your "in between" clothes as you transition to your goal weight. Glad other people are shopping thrift!

Thrift stores are amazing and great way to find smaller clothes. I also shop off season. I can usually find sweaters for about $5 and summer clothes in the winter for $2. I have friends who have lost alot so she is giving me clothes as I get smaller.

I love shopping at consignment stores, thrift shops etc. Many actually support therapies or a mission etc.

My kids wardrobe is quite nice and consists of mainly yard sale, thrift store clothing

I bought two current style suit jackets for job interviews, $7 each. I've had less success with casual clothes. I've seen target/walmart t shirts clearly used for the price I would pay new so I have'nt bothered.

Usually a lurker but had to let you know how much I LOVE Goodwill! After I lost 90 pounds and reached my goal, I had to replace my entire wardrobe. I sold EVERYTHING I owned on ebay and as I did so, I replaced with high quality, nice looking clothes. My wardrobe dropped by 1/3 because it took two or three things to sell to be able to buy one thing.

But ebay takes time and I like to try things on --you know, shop!

Then I found Goodwill and I'm hooked. There are three stores near me. I go as often as possible. Since I'm over 55, I receive a senior discount --and I go on 50% off Wednesdays. Because I am thin (yes, really --I keep myself about 10-15 pounds below goal weight) it seems everything fits and looks good! Most recently I bought a suede jacket (with tags still attached) and a summer dress --total cost? $7.50.

I'm a teacher and as I said, a bit older. I don't wear "the latest styles" but I do wear nice clothes every day. The only things I don't buy at Goodwill are shoes. I wear a size 12 and have never found any to fit me!

I've been the same size for 7 years now. That's one of the lovely things about lapband --I get up every morning and know my clothes will fit. Perfectly.

Maybe I've replaced my food addiction with a Goodwill addiction! LOL.

:-)

I went to goodwill today and got some jeans. I still plan to lose more weight so no point in spending a ton of cash on in between sizes

I run by the thrift store almost once a week. I don't get too much, but, its a real treat to buy smaller clothes! I have run across some high end brands and that just makes it better. Now, I take a bag of the clothes I can no longer wear back to them. I love it!

I found that in my area, there's not a big selection for me @ my current size, and also the cost @ good will rivals that of target or Walmart, at least in my area. I can't wait to get smaller so I can shop @ the reg. section of the stores! I'm only 2 months post surgery and have lost 20lbs. since. I already have smaller clothes in my closet. When I shop, I tend to buy a size smaller, buy knits or jersey, or things that I can easily alter if I need. But other than that, I love thrift stores! You never know what you're going to find!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
