My Fitbit Went Swimming With Me...

Recommended Posts

today by accident. I had it clipped to the bottoms of my tankini {yes, my size 14 that I wore 4+ yrs ago} while I was cleaning the pool, pavers, etc. Note to self: DON'T FORGET TO TAKE YOUR FITBIT OFF WHEN YOU GO IN THE POOL {for the first time since it's 98 deg here}. Well, I forgot. I was in for a good 10 minutes when I realized I still had it on and quickly took it off and laid it in the hot sun to dry knowing full well it had to be a goner.

Brought it in the house and put it on it's base and I saw nothing. Walked away to get a ziplock bag of rice hoping for that to bring it back to life. Came back and Walla, it was working and synced up to my laptop!!! I thought for sure it was dead.

Note to self: Never put your Fitbit on your bathing suit while cleaning the pool, eventually you'll be taking a dip to cool off..... On top of that, lost another 3lbs. Two more lbs until I hit a loss of 50lbs!!!! It's all good. :D

99% of the time as long as you let a wet electronic dry out completely it will work normally again.. It's when people don't let enough drying time happen and try to turn it on and the last bit of Water inside causes it to short out. Also, a bag of rice doesn't do anything to help with wet electronics, i'm pretty sure the japanese made that up to up rice sales. But, yay! for it still working!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
