Go to fillcenterusa. They have a location in TN which wouldn't be too far. After the initial fee your fills are only $155 without fluro and $200 with. Hope this helps. I'm in GA and everyone I looked for wanted much more than this (I am also a Mexico patient). Seems they don't want to touch us.

Dr Gonzales in Winston-Salem. Sherrie posted that Dr G is now only doing fills under flouro at the hospital. I have no idea what the cost is. He's my only option besides a quick flight to San Diego and a trip across the border. Kuri or Ortiz in TJ will do fills for anyone, just e-mail their office if you can get to TJ. I know it's a pain but if you can get a cheap flight it might be worth the time. Let me know if you need phone numbers or web addys.

Hey...I saw this and am starting to look into finding a fill doctor (even though going to San Diego is easy for me - since I was born & raised there)...I'd like to find someone close to the Charlotte area - it's a difficult time of year for me to get away for a fill & if I could find someone a little closer it might be better. I was banded in Mexico - so I know I don't have a lot of options...

Hey, Dr. Bauman in Concord does fills. His office is Carolina Weight Loss Surgery (704) 786-5700- right off of I85. They do a lot of follow up work for people banded outside of the USA. Dr. Bauman did my surgery and is an excellent surgeon. They do fills w/ the flouro until they get comfortable with your port. You won't be disappointed by this office. Good luck!

Well I was finally Banded in Mexico, on 3-29-06. This is my first day of puree foods, can anyone give me an idea of how much? I don't want to get sick. Is it true you have to eat Puree foods for 14 week:confused:! Please advise if you can help. Thanks, Lisa Sizemore

First CONGRATS on being banded.

14 WEEKS seems a bit crazy to me. I was on mushie food coming home from the hospital which was the next day. I was on that for 2 weeks and then I could start working solids in slowly. I didn't have any trouble.

As for the amount to eat. Just take it slow...start w/ small spoons and sip. Just be careful...you will know when you are full.

Again congrats...Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

I use Dr Gonzales in Winston/Salem. He charges 350 and only uses fluro. I'm not sure what the hospital charges b/c he filed it under my insurance. He used to do blind fills in the office for 250 but something happened - his nurse told me that he had a problem with "a couple" of people who were banded in Mexico "that weren't lap band candidates" She implied to me that they were really too obese and the port was hard to find. His # is 336-784-8299. It takes awhile to get an appointment. Dr. Bauman charges much more...I called his office when Dr G started the fluro only policy but was still cheaper to use Dr. G. Hope this helps!

I am back!!!! lol

Dr. Gonzales in Winston Salem charges $325. He does it at Forsythe Memorial. They turn around and charge you $200 for the flouro - but they will bill your insurance company.

Dr. G ruptured a port in the office.

He also told me that a lot of people with high BMIs were getting banded in Mexico and ports were getting harder and harder to find.

Good luck.

I need another fill....

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
