Restriction At First Fill? If Not, When?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone felt restriction after their first fill? If not, at what point did you start feeling restriction? How many fills? How many CCs? How many months did it take to get there?

My first fill was 30 minutes ago and he put 3 CCs in my band? Is 3 a pretty average amount for a fill?

Thanks...sorry for so many questions...but really appreciate everyone's input.

I think my first fill was 3cc's. The next one was 1cc, then 1/2 cc......I'll be honest, it took a few months before I felt good restriction. You will get there! My band is a little over half full at 6cc's. It is working ;) I love my band!

I felt some restriction after my first fill, but didn't hit good restriction until the second one. The next months I didn't get a fill, but the month after (May) I got another small one.

I go back again next week and am definitely not getting a fill. I don't need it.

Try not to compare yourself to others though because everyone and their anatomy is different.

I didn't get any restriction till fill #3 but fill #6 got me to the green zone. I have no idea how many CCs are in my band since it really doesn't matter(my doc doesn't know either).

Had surgery July of 09 had my first fill 6 weeks after surgery 2CCs minimal restriction Another 2CCs added a bit more restriction April 2012 1.5 CCs More of a restriction and may 2012 .25ccs major restriction. I currently have 5.75CCs in my band and am doing alright with restriction but i notice as time passes its like i lose that severe restriction feeling to more of an "ok" restriction i wonder if any one has that feeling i discribed or if its just me?!

My first fill was also 3 cc's. About 6-7 fills got restriction at 10.6 CC's in 11 CC band. I recommend a food scale if you haven't bought one yet. This is really essential during bandster hell; because you CAN eat more; but you should'nt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
