jen_1381 446 Posted June 20, 2012 I got my first fill yesterday, my surgeon put on 3 cc. He had me sip Water in the office to make sure I didn't get too tight, and it went down fine. He recommended transitioning back to soft foods over the next 48 hours, starting with liquids. After the fill, I sipped on a Protein Drink for a while, drinking about 4 ounces, and about 20 ounces of water throughout the afternoon and evening. I also went on a 3 mile jog last night. When I laid down for bed (finally!) my stomach was SO LOUD!! I didn't feel hungry at all but it was gurgling, growling, groaning, and just simply being annoying! I was thankful my husband was working graveyard or I know it would have kept him awake. This morning, even after drinking some tea and my liquid vitamins (mixed with some Bolthouse juice) it started up again. So loud my husband heard me across the room! This just started since the fill. Is it just reactionary since I'm on liquids again, and my stomach thinks it's hungry, or does a fill "set it off" like this?! I know I probably sound really silly, but the office I work in is kind of quiet...I'm hoping my stomach can shush itself today!!!
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 20, 2012 Mine gets very loud at times, too. In fact if I move certain ways, it'll make noise every single time I move. My kids laugh because my stomach seems to "talk" more than my mouth some days.

I had chicken for lunch today (grilled) and about an hour later i was still craving something...so I had a Protein shake and then went on a walk...MY GAWD my stomach was talking to me...wowsers! MommaSue 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Oh my gosh, ME TOO! And I work in a quiet office, too! It's really embarrassing sometimes, I'm just sure the people in the cubicle(s) next to me can hear it! And I'm not hungry, although the gurgling makes me wonder if I am! UGH!
gina51 0 Posted June 20, 2012 I swear its the protien drinks. They make me so noisy and gassy. lol
jen_1381 446 Posted June 20, 2012 Ooh Gina good thought! That was the first time I drank a Protein drink since I've been off the full liquid diet. After surgery, my stomach didn't seem too loud but so many changes were going on I doubt I would have noticed. Good insight!
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted June 20, 2012 I think Protein does have at least a part of it. I know it's harder for your stomach to digest and I wonder if that combined with the squeezing of the band results in all the noises? I'm definitely going to ask my surgeon when I see him next week,
MommaSue 0 Posted June 21, 2012 Wonderful!! I'm reading this as I'm sipping on my morning Protein shake, at work! I'll let you know if I get run out of my office later! LOL Had my first fill Monday, and all was fine until last night. I got a Tylenol stuck, and the first bite of a snack because I was truly hungry about 7:30 pm -- both came back up, unfortunately. And the Tylenol hurt like a son of a gun. So, I guess I'm definitely feeling restriction now, where I hadn't in the past. I'll be VERY careful today! Everyone have a good day too!
