My surgeon is strict with meals...each meal consists of 3 oz of lean Protein and 2 oz of a Fiber carb, measured by volume after cooking. I was advised to make good food choices, and not count calories.

Each surgeon seems to have a variation on the "rules", so it is best to check with the doctor's office to know what you should be doing for your meals.

I agree with others, consulting with a dietitian (nutritionist) would be very beneficial for you.

Best wishes...

my dr also told me "protein first, then veggies or fruit, then carbs." I was also told to stay up on fills, meaning if i was eating more than a 1/2 cup to 1 cup per meal, and really hungry in between meals to come in for a fill. Well it took my 6th fill a couple of weeks ago to hit the green zone , but i finally got there ! Now im full after about 3/4 of a cup with a couple of small healthy Snacks in between meals. The weight is now coming off much easier, so get those fills ! Makes all the difference ! ( down 45 lbs in 6 months !) Good luck !

Thank you for the post. I have only had one fill and do not think I really have any restrictions. The willpower is fading fast. My second fill is scheduled for July 25th.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
