Water Intake... Tips Please??

Recommended Posts

Hi there...

I got my first fill 3.0 CC at first an then I couldnt keep Water down at the office so he took .5 CC back out and I am doing good. I feel alot more restriction, like I am suppose to. But the one major thing is... I CANT GET MY WATER INTAKE IN!!!!

Help PLEASE!!!

I dont know if it is because of my fill or what but I can't even manage in a day to get 24oz of liquids... I sip, sip, sip all the time. I cant take more than 3 sips at a time or you can feel it coming up. Do you have any ideas on how to get 60oz of water in a day and tricks any body has noticed?

I love water.. the flavor isn't the problem :)

* food never taste as good as skinny feels*

If you just had a fill then you could have swelling, which is normal right after a fill. Make sure to follow the diet of liquids then pureed foods if that is what the doc gave you following a fill...

Right after a fill I have a hard time with liquids too, you might also try to drink hot tea and that will help open you up a bit. I have to keep a water bottle on the bed or with me to drink, drink, drink... not near me but on the bed or chair so it is right there while I am hanging out. It is hard but try to drink as much as you can.. and it should open slightly..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
