Longleggs 11 Posted June 19, 2012 I was reading here yesterday that Cigna changed their policy to 3 months of dietary appointments from the previous 6 month requirement. I called my surgery consultant and he not only didnt believe me but emphatically said it wasn't true. I went online and grabbed the policy information on bariatric surgery which shows a change that took place last month (May) and emailed that off to him. I am yet to hear back ... I am on an extremely tight time scale with my surgery and getting the insurance approval sooner would make things so much easier. It just seems like the folks over at my surgery center dont want to go the extra mile. I am so frustrated!!!!! Does anyone have any further information on Cigna's policy change on bariatric surgery? Kathie52 31 Posted June 19, 2012 Yes you are absolutely RIGHT! I am with CIGNA and my surgical unit called me about 3 wks ago to tell me. I have now been approved and will have surgery On July 6th. Whats wrong with those people? Don't they know we...(Lapbandtalkers)...are a tight knit group? Seriously, Longleggs, good luck with this! Feel free to contact me if you need anymore info. Cazzy 725 Posted June 19, 2012 I would go and see them and ask them to check it out while u are there, they should be up to par on any changes an insurance makes whether its good news or bad ... insist they find out for certain, after all 3 months less is a big issue for prospective bandsters
