Funny... a post complaining about complaining. Nobody makes you read these posts, so don't read the ones you don't like and then you won't have to post a rant like this.

I get your point  But I didn't see it as complaining, I seen it as maybe a reminder that what we are all going through isn't by far the worst and we have all become very self absorbed. I am on a computer now but am usually on the android app and by the time my phone loads the discussion its to late to just skip it. Then its just wasted on another complaint. It just seems like there is nothing good with anyone on here. I thought the lapband was the greatest thing that could happen to me as far as my health goes and its well worth the "little" things we have to go through. More people should dwell on that instead of all the minor things.

In my opinion, life is too short to dwell on the things that irritate us, and for you to write such a long post on this board about all the things on here that irritate you, maybe you should skip the board altogether.

This is a community for support and encouragement, therefore we should be supportive and encouraging, not bashing.

Maybe I should have made it shorter.

I am very supportive and encourage wherever I can. Sorry if I offended you personally.

Everyone has their own battles, and what someone is going through personally, is going to be important to them. I think you ought to get off your high horse.

First off, I'm scared of heights.

Second, You are right, everyone has their own battles. People eating certain things, rude comments and slight pain shouldn't be what gets people down. And if thats the worst thing in their life then they got it pretty good and should recognize that.

I'm glad that surgery was so painless for you. For some, it wasn't. And some people have had complications as well.

Telling everyone that they've got everything so easy/good doesn't do much, other than reflect poorly on you.

There are always going to be people who have things better or worse than we do. I don't think that is an acceptable reason to dismiss people's feelings about their own situation though.

I am not talking about the people that have real issues. I am talking about the whiners. I recognize that some have gone through a very rough time. I feel bad for them and care. I think people dwell too much on petty things and let that rule their lives. I don't see how it reflects poorly on me to tell people straight that things aren't as bad as they think they are.

I can see how this is going to go in a bad direction, if there is a way for me to delete this topic please let me know. It was a rant that I should not have put on here and I am sorry that I did. This is what happens when the fingers work faster than the brain. It doesn't change how I feel, This just wasn't the time or the place.

for me personally there are people who are just negative in life in gerenal and no matter what they go thru it they will twist it to be negative and the same goes for positive people so if someone took offense the no big deal its either half full or half empty you choose how to take it someone else can not make you feel a certain way...I am just saying... I had a rough time but I choose to work thru it and move on not dwell or scare people with it my rough experience. Smile be happy your alive and working towards a healthier you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
