didixo 8 Posted June 19, 2012 Hello, i have a question. I know for certain procedures like Lipo and Tummy Tuck (not that its the same) people are required to use slimming body suits after surgery. After i got banded the nurse told me not to use anything tight around the incisions but its been two weeks and i was wonderin if i could use a sliming suit (the ones they sell at the mall that make u slender) so my skin reacts better to the weightloss, any thoughts, suggestions or comments are appreciated. alexa_nj01 18 Posted June 19, 2012 How many pounds have u lost in two weeks? Btw I think u should wait a little more until it heals completely..
cls70 12 Posted June 19, 2012 My doc never mentioned that. I don't think a light Spanx would hurt as long as it's not a compression garment.
Cazzy 725 Posted June 19, 2012 I did wear tummy control leggings after my band surgery and i was fine, but having recently had my cosmetic surgery and am wearing proper compression garments, i would not wear these type after my lapband surgery..
honk 780 Posted June 19, 2012 I would say no. Please don't think I'm being mean sprited. I don't really see the point. We needed weight loss surgery for a reason. A Spanx doesn't hide the fact that someone is overweight. I even saw a study recently that said wearing compression garmets/tight clothes daily can lead to nerve damage. Just does'nt seem worth it to me.
kah1213 311 Posted June 19, 2012 I've worn Spanx and control top leggings since surgery without an issue. They just help smooth things out a little
