Back Pain And Find A New Doctor In Los Angeles County

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was banded July 7, 2010. I have lost 75. Been stuck at this weight loss for at least 6 mos. I just can't seem to hit the 80 pound loss mark.

Last week I started getting sharp pains in the middle of my back when any liquid or food is digesting. I can barely eat anything solid without getting this pain. I am wondering what is going on.. ????

Before this pain, on a regular day I can have coffee, banana fir Breakfast, maybe turkey, Soup and crackers for lunch. Then for dinner maybe I'll nibble a bit from the reg dinner my sis cooks, or if I'm good, ill have peppers, hummus and some yogurt. Im a sucker for chips and salsa and chocolate with red wine...

I have to start running again, that made a huge difference in my weight loss. But right now I'm

just worried about this pain. My regular doctor no longer works for 1800GetSlim so I need to find a new one in the Los Angeles area. Suggestions??

Dena

I was banded back east in Philadelphia, and had to find a doctor out here. My insurance referred me to a Bariatric Practice in Fountain Valley, the main doctor is Peter Leport. I saw a Dr, Kelly Francis when I was there and everyone was really nice.

They will take you if your banded elsewhere, I did have to get a upper GI prior to my fill and I had medical records to take with me too. I live in Palm Springs so it is a 2 hour drive each way, but they are who my insurance refers patients to. Not sure exactly where your located, but it is an option. Good luck

I have been having trouble lately also with pain between my shoulder blades & when I take a deep breath. I did get a small defill & it made a great improvement but it is still happening a bit. I don't want to have anymore taken out. It is strange because I have only had 1 fill over a year ago so why now? Strange... It does have me a bit worried though. I've had my lapband for 2 yrs this Sept. Anyone experience same?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
