As they say, the band is a fickle bitch. We have all experienced changing restriction from day to day, indeed, but a barium test is always a good idea. Good luck!!

I actually only have had this band in 5 months and I have 2.8 for a 4 cc band, and I too have the same problem, I can only tolerate certain foods at certain times. The majority of the times I am over the toilet as well, some times I try my hardest to swallow, but it seems to come back up anyways. Hope you find some answers for your problem, don't think I was much help.

As Alex said, the band is a fickle bitch. Go for the test to rule out any problems, and maybe talk to your doctor about a small unfull to give your band, and stomach rest?

It always worries me when I hear people say they're PBing so regularly. Tolerating this on an ongoing basis is enough to CAUSE slippage alone. The band is sure not there to make you vomit regularly..

please, please, please, please please, if this is happening to you on a regular basis, assess the situation. Am I eating too fast? Am I not chewing well enough? Am I drinking liquids while I'm eating? Am I eating foods like bread, Pasta, extremely fibrous foods, foods that settle in the pouch (scrambled eggs, potatoes). Productive burping/vomiting/hurling/ blowing chunks CAUSE slippage... YIKES!!

Along the same lines as the other dirty minded folks... I thought it was a Liquid Protein suggestion. (shaking head in shame)

I do not mean to make light of your difficulties, but the thread name was just asking for hecklers.

I truly hope all is fine with your band and that your problems are transitory. Lots of luck.

LMAO, Well I came to this thread for all the wrong reasons too.

So what is the "do you swallow" question anyways? Are you asking if we do flouro? In my opinion it is the ONLY way to have a correct and true fill and rest assured that my band is okay.

OK, I to came here for the wrong reason's. Do you swallow? Mmmmmm????

But........ I do see what you mean. I meet a lady the other night in NY, and she told me she has a band installed and had the fill, taken out. She said she was throwing up 6 or 7 times a day. Well........... after you realize you can't eat as much as you used to and you keep trying to force it, you will lose it by pukeing up. You have to eat slowly, very slowly, and when you feel the tide rise......... STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop eating, right away, not one more thing, even if it's your favorite thing (fried carb's being mine). We fatty's learn the hard way, we figure if we force the food I can finish the meal, or wherever. But, no....... the band will not let you finish, you will feel uncomfortable, and then puke, no two ways about it, if you eat too much or too fast your pukeing. I learned the hard way, when I first start eat'in, I like to take a big Ol' bite and swallow without even chewing......... well, that don't happen any more, not unless I want to run to the bowl, and I have, many times. Now I watch what I eat and I eat very slowly, and chew a lot. In fact I mush the food on the roof on my mouth to make sure it's chewed enough. I have had the swallowing X-ray thing a few times, and no problem (Thank God). Just get it through our overeating chubby brain, we can't like we want to. This is why we got the band installed in the first place.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
