JJB 2 Posted March 9, 2006 I just wanted to see if anyone would know how to get rid of this shoulder pain. It left for a week and then came back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

WannaBeHealthy 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Hi there! I get it too! I just posted a question about it too. I get it after I eat a meal. My surgeon says it is a signal that something is stuck in the pouch. If it is, then I hate this signal! The only way that I get rid of it is to allow my body to belch. I pace, move my arms around and the belches roar. After a couple of hours of this, the shoulder pain goes away. Pretty miserable feeling. I wish I knew if it is associated with eatting too much at one sitting, or what we eat. nightingale2u 42 Posted March 11, 2006 I still have a problem with shoulder pain... I hate to disagree with the surgeon mentioned... but it typically hits me when I am hungry and have built up excessive air in my stomach. THis pain is much worse when I am filled and when it happens I am darn near useless. Owie... hurts to even breath when it happens. Shortly after eating the pain usually goes away... unless I am filled... I hope this doesn't happen for you.
coyotegirl 3 Posted March 11, 2006 I get shoulder pain when I eat too much. And I ALWAYS get shoulder pain after a fill. I use a "Icey Hot patch" and take tylenol. Mine never last too long.
carrieg 0 Posted July 5, 2007 Im 16 months post op and I will have occasional episodes of shoulder pain that last from hours to days. My doctor told me that the band can lay on your diaphragm and cause a spasm. I noticed it if I eat broccolli or apples (Ive given up broccolli because of it). I take Gas-X and it really helps.
