Dacoop 84 Posted June 17, 2012 I was at work today and they had a bake sale in the break room. I sat there and ate my chicken salad. It was hard to pass up some of the sweets of course there were some of my favorite ones there. I know it was the sweets that got me to the over weight stage but I have will power most the time. How do you get through foods that are so hard to pass up???
elcee 3,342 Posted June 17, 2012 With great difficulty! I think the main thing is to keep your "eye on the prize". Or the other thing I would do was go for lunch with friends and instead of having a meal just have cake. Sometimes a little of what you fancy does you good and depriving yourself or saying something is offlimits often backfires and makes you want it more. Dacoop 84 Posted June 17, 2012 Yes I know if you don't have some things you crave it will end up bad. I have a little here and there but for the most part I am on target with diet. I do say I love my band because it doesn't allow me for much of the foods I love. I realize getting stuck with bad foods isn't fun!
kll724 3,055 Posted June 17, 2012 Here's a plus side, the "bad" for you food, all it takes is a little bite, and then mostly you are satisfied. I share with friends or relatives if I just have to have a bite. best wishes. Karen
zinhaa 363 Posted June 17, 2012 Kll is right. I was craving chocolate for awhile out of the blue. My fav is a snicker bar. So I went out and bought one. It was a big one with two pieces, I had 2 tiny bites. I was satisfied. I gave the rest to my husband. Crave past and i didn't want anymore. I don't do it all the time, but haven't wanted it since. Fantasy 104 Posted June 17, 2012 After almost seven years, I still battle with food triggers. I have my good days and my bad days. Fortunately my good days outnumber the bad days. As the years have gone by I realize my food triggers have diminished. I also have recipes that are good substiutes. I can't live without chocolate.< /p>
