So my stomach has been making nonstop noise all day, the gas pains are the worst (3days post op) I feel so full and have barely had any Water all day. How am I supposed to get down this Protein? Today I'm supposed be starting full liquids. It's Saturday and the office is closed. I don't know what to do. I'm still going crazy, questioning my decision, but I'm still trying to keep all the positive things people said in mind. I just don't know what to do.

Relax! One or two days with very little Protein is not a big concern. Just try to keep hydrated and sip your Protein shakes as you go along. Your body is trying to heal from the trauma of surgery and we all have plenty of reserves the body can burn to stay healthy.

Hang in there ! It does get better, it just takes a little time . As tmf said, your body is recovering from surgery , it usually takes a week or so for your body to get all the anesthsia and stuff out of it. Try sucking on ice cubes and popsicles for your Water, or Hot Drinks seem to go down much better, so try some Campbells chicken Soup (minus the noodles and meat) or some hot Decaf tea. You'll feel much better. You need to take it one day at a time, Im 6 months banded and sooooooo glad i did it, its been so worth it ! Hang in there !

Try taking a walm for ten mins every.hour. This will help with the gas. Also get some chewable gas x. I understand your pain and thinking if you made the right choice. Everybody things that after the surgerybut guess what you made an awesome choice and you can and will do it. Now take a walk and Gerry some rest.

Kallets! I thought I was the only one. My stomach makes such loud noises that last forever. ( I am also 3 days post op) I was worried if its because I am not consuming enough. I get full easily even with just Water my chest starts to tighten up, so its hard to get any Protein down. Hope it improves soon for the both of us!

I've been walking and don't feel much relief. I haven't gotten any Protein today at all. I feel so full. I hope it gets easier and better for you too. Keep in touch. Let's see how the rest of the week goes.

Like the other posts said, take it easy its only been 3 days. You'll get better. I used to get horrible stomach cramps post op always around 1am to 5am.... why not during the day? I asked myself. Anyways, the only thing that help me was drinking something warm.

One of the reasons you are feeling full might be that you're not drinking the way you are supposed to. My surgeon said I had to sip 4 oz every hour sip 1 oz every 15 min. if you gulp everything down at once you'll experience that feeling of fullness

I hope I was of help ... Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
